Therapy for survivors of rape, sexual abuse and domestic violence

Overcome trauma and reach your true life potential with Stephanie Edwards

Whether you’re male, female or identify as LGBT – if you’ve been affected by rape, sexual abuse or domestic violence, I’m here to help you overcome the emotional trauma you’ve suffered. I wholeheartedly believe that with the right therapy, you can lead a happier, more fulfilled life long-term. Yes, you might be feeling anxious and depressed about your circumstances now, but I can assure you you’re not alone and things can change.

As a qualified Person-Centred Experiential Counsellor & Psychotherapist, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) practitioner, and CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy) therapist, my role is not to diagnose symptoms, but to help you overcome the impact of your experience with sexual violence. I also support the family members of survivors, so please get in touch if you would like to process your emotions in a safe, non-judgemental and accepting environment.

Your trauma may have occurred recently or many years ago, but the deep wounds still feel fresh to your soul. Thankfully, there are treatments available that will significantly improve your quality of life; we just need to find the right therapy for you and your circumstances.

I work mainly in a private practice in Hoylake and Heswall seeing clients with many different problems (not always related to sexual violence), and I also continue to volunteer for a charitable organisation in Merseyside called Rape and Sexual Abuse (RASA). Nothing shocks me, so I encourage you to take the first step towards recovery and contact me today.

Counselling Psychotherapy by Stephanie Edwards

Thankfully I received transformative therapy very early in my adult life, and this created a deep passion and desire inside me to help other survivors of abuse. Now, as an experienced psychotherapist, I promise to listen to you without judgement and believe you without question.

Therapies that will help transform your life

My straightforward, simple approach to therapy will leave you feeling calmer, more confident and better equipped to deal with the uncertainties of life. I use EMDR, CBT, and Clay Therapy; all of these counselling psychotherapy services are held at Hoylake Holistics, Market Street, Hoylake, Wirral, Merseyside.
